New Orleans is a Louisiana city on the Mississippi River, near the Gulf of Mexico. Nicknamed the "Big Easy," it's known for its round-the-clock nightlife, vibrant live-music scene and spicy, singular cuisine reflecting its history as a melting pot of French, African and American cultures. Embodying its festive spirit is Mardi Gras, the late-winter carnival famed for raucous costumed parades and street parties.

Orlando will be observing Central Standard Time (EST) during the TCG Conference. The timezone offset will be UTC-6h. 



February in New Orleans is slightly warmer and less wet than January. The average temperature reaches a high of 18°C (that's about 64°F) during the day and in the evenings drops down to around 10°C (about 50°F).


Passport and Visa

To visit the United States, you must have a valid passport. In some cases, the passport must be valid for more than three months beyond your visit. Before traveling to the U.S., a citizen of a foreign country must generally obtain a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay. United States citizens do not need a U.S. visa for travel. Please contact the TCG office if you need a personalized invitation letter to obtain your Visa.


The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is a major public airport located approximately 16 miles from the hotel.

The United States uses the US Dollar. Please use the following Currency Converter to learn more about the value of the dollar against other currencies. All major credit cards are generally accepted (MasterCard, Visa, AMX, Diners Club) so is cash. The standard for tipping for waiters is 15-20%.



The electrical current in the United States is 120 volts. If you travel to the U.S. with a device that does not accept 120 Volts at 60 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter. Most laptops have an AC/DC adapter built in the cord and a converter is not needed. However, you will need an adapter plug.
